Verification of Foreign Contractors
Why checking registers is not enough
Lublin Union GR & Audit has been active on the market since May 2016. During this time, we have checked 134 business entities operating mainly in Eastern markets. We know that one mistake in choosing a supplier can block the financial liquidity of a small plant for many months. We check facts, not promises, because in cross-border business, hard data from registers matters, not a nice website or a salesman's assurances. If a contractor hides their ownership structure, we will catch it within a few days.
Analysis of connections and sanction lists
Our audit is not just entering a tax number into a search engine. We analyze capital ties, which are often hidden behind three layers of parent companies in different jurisdictions. In March 2024, we discovered that a potential partner of a client from Lublin had non-obvious links to a sanction list through a fund registered in Cyprus. As a result, the company avoided an administrative penalty of 48,200 PLN and the risk of losing its good reputation in the eyes of banks. The numbers don't lie – 22% of the companies we checked in the last quarter had tax arrears or unexplained entries in local debtor registers.
Report with a specific verdict
We usually deliver the finished report within 4 business days. The document contains a specific risk assessment and a list of warnings regarding payment timeliness. The border is not just a line on a map; it is an information barrier that we help you leap over without risking your own capital. We focus on specifics: does the person signing the contract have real authority to do so? It often turns out that powers of attorney expired a year ago, and the contractor is operating with outdated stamps. Without any fluff about theory, we show where the weak points are in your future business partner's structure.
Analytical team support
Our team consists of 4 analysts who previously worked in the banking sector and international logistics. We are not a large corporation, so we approach every inquiry factually and respond quickly to emails. If we see that a contractor is clean, we say it directly. If we have doubts, we suggest additional payment security, such as a documentary letter of credit or export credit insurance. P.S. Recently, we helped a client recover a 12,400 PLN advance by blocking a transfer to a company that turned out to be in a state of quiet liquidation.
Practical benefits for your company
Each verification ends with a one-page summary with a clear recommendation: cooperate, be careful, or resign. This is a simple tool for a business owner who doesn't have time to read hundreds of pages of legal documentation. The cost of such a check is a fraction of the value of an average export contract, which in the manufacturing industry is approximately 65,000 PLN. By investing in knowledge at the beginning, you protect your goods from getting stuck in a customs warehouse or, worse, from being shipped to a recipient who will never pay for them.
